After a few months of pitch perfecting and practising, we made it through to the final stage and presented our pitch live on Wednesday at Venturefest 2016.

The Leicester event was host to many East Midlands business and organisations exhibiting as well as two rounds of live pitching on stage to a room full of investors.

Hosta were lucky enough to get the opportunity to present a one-minute pop-up pitch, informing the room about our vision to green cites and investment opportunities for the business. Nottingham City Council also invited us to attend the previous evenings formal dinner to hear some great young entrepreneur pitch and exhibit on their stand afterwards to represent Nottingham business.

The whole process has helped us to think more strategically about our business goals, from the expert feedback and workshop training we have received from John Griffiths and Lewis Stringer (to name a few). Consequently with greater focus, Helen delivered a pitch that gave us the opportunity to meet many people in the industry, and gain valuable contacts, who have the expertise to help us grow our business.

We were so pleased to be chosen as one of the final 20 business’ pitching, after an initial 70 applied, and to be able to present alongside a wide range of really successful and talented entrepreneurs. Now it’s time for a few days to consolidate and then on to the next stage of growing the business. We will definitely be back for more pitching in 2017!
